HARRIS MEMORIAL SURGERY
Action Plan Following Practice Surveys and Discussion with Patients
Initial Plan
We decided initially to set up a virtual group but are no changing at the request of patients to regular meeting in the practice
How the group was set up
· We have advertised by flyers in the surgery and on the website.
· Doctors, nurses and dispensers were asking people who they thought may be interested
Reaching agreement on priority issues.
The information sources included the results of the Mori poll and we also ran an in-house survey.
We have also listened to staff observations and listened to observations from patient’s attending the patient reference group meetings.
Then following emails and on-line discussions the following plan has been developed:
1. The availability of later appointments . We briefed patients on the extended hours enhanced service but as a pilot we have increased the nurse of doctor appointment till 8.30pm one night pair week.
2. Patients have asked about booking appointments on-line . We already offer a service to book prescriptions on-line and will discuss this further with Microtest (the clinical system supplier
3 Improvements to Lanner Surgery . Lanner Surgery is in needs of modernisation. The practice has drawn up plans for improvements to Lanner including lift facilities. This will be dependent on consultation with the Landlord and the NHS. The practice is fully committed to providing a primary care service in Lanner village
The Future
We are going to move to having regular meetings. It has been suggested that there is a quarterly meeting and at least once a year at Lanner
